Garden description
Planet Horticulture was invited to create a small garden or landscape statement, 1 of about 2 dozen designers from around the world, at the Cornerstone Gardens, a large compound of spaces and buildings designed to showcase current landscape design. Our project, titled "Rise," consists of a hill of soil with a large corrugated metal pipe passing through the central area. The mound is planted with a mixture of interesting landscape trees and shrubs that separate the front of the pipe from the back. A path leads from an entry, into a small garden space, then through the pipe and emerges in another garden space on the other side. The experience embodies how landscape can create mystery, passage, transition and fresh perspective.
